Critical Studies in Sound for Moving Image Tuesday 01/10/2019
A part of the first part of this class session is we have a weekly briefing and part of this weeks was us making sure and informing us all about the the way we book equipment in the Hub and from the Media group and how you must sign up to a members group and take in induction to b able to book out any equipment. With this weeks session, we looked at Modernism, industrial, Utopia, WW1 Dada, Surrealism and Futurism. This helped us understand what they really are and why they where so important and what impact they made and especially to the art movements of that time. This was interesting for me because it showed the technological process and progressions for art movements and how people took this opportunities to break out of the normal work flows and the old ways of doing things and show this progress and show what they and others are capable of and so much more and these events and movements went throughout the and from 1900-1960's.

In this class we went further into the explanation and introductions for Pro Tools and for to remind those who have used it and for those who haven't really, with this, it reminds us and teaches those who haven't used Pro Tools and i felt it was good to have more than one session/class to remind and catch us up and especially from the long break over the summer and this helps refresh everyone's memories. we also went into more details of how we use Pro Tools and the reasons why it is and has been placed as an industry standards and why it is and how important it is for us to get to know how to use this and know the industry formats and files of Pro Tools and what the standards are set for formats in the industry.

Today's lecture went on about one the most important things for Sound Designers and Engineers and that is the naming and documenting/tagging your audio and SFX files and libraries. This was shown on how to properly file and manage your files and how to make them easy to read and find, document and tagging them so that for copyright reasons for yourself and for others that you can not only show, but protect your works and especially when they get shown or brought online, showing that tagging them can help from people stealing work from online websites and that you can properly manage and protect your work and if others use them your "Watermark/Metadata" other known as how you leave your tags on files and be able to make out your work, we we're also shown the Hub's Audio suite.
