Critical Studies in Sound for Moving Image Tuesday 19/11/2019
During this week, we were off on a study week and that give us more time to figure, work on and start to finish our Critically Analysed report, this helped me with fully being able to bring my ideas to my report and what my main pieces are going to be, i decided to make my report on the power of speech and how effective it is and tying them in with era inventions and technologies and how they tie in with them such as the use of the loudspeaker, Radio and Microphones, without all three of them, very influential moments, people and political moments in history, such as Hitler's speeches's right before and during WWII, the Radio broadcasts from Hanoi Hannah directed at the American forces and GI's during the Vietnam War and the Black rights and political black rights movements and freedom speeches from Martin Luther King. All had the strong connections and invention technologies during those moments in times.

For this week, we went into more of other equipment that is used in movie and tv show productions that the industry uses and how some of them may be known to us and some may not, learning more about how the film/tv show productions work and what equipment they do use and how they use what they have is very helpful as they help us understand how they go about filming and how much time and planning they do put into their filming process and what they do need to do and what they know that they don’t need, such as going and bringing too much equipment or getting footage that they don’t need. We looked into what a Sound Cart is and what makes up a Sound Cart and why and when they would use one and the advantages of using one is, especially on location filming.

But what also went on what a Sound Cart needs and what it needs to be capable of doing high performance recordings for the sets, such as being able to do recording 8 audio ISO’s and a stereo down mix of ISO at that being a set standards of what it needs to be able to do. Have an 8-channel mixer with direct outs will be required to keep track and store backups at different locations in case of any problems. For formats, the common one that is set and they use is in Time code – Hours – Minutes – Seconds – Frames – 00:00:00:00 to 23:59:59:24 (Pal System)
